Sori Adele
I began my journey with Acorn back in December 2019 as a Digital Marketing Intern, eager to dive into the world of corporate dynamics. Transitioning into a HR Intern role in May 2020 opened up new avenues of learning and growth that I hadn’t anticipated. From that very first day, Acorn instilled in me a sense of trust and empowerment, allowing me to not only contribute but to take charge in areas where I felt comfortable.
The culture here is one of opportunity and support; your success in assigned tasks opens doors to further exploration and development. It’s an environment that fosters growth and cultivates confidence. Over my tenure, I’ve not only honed my skills in Marketing and HR but have also discovered a newfound belief in my capabilities, propelling my career forward.Fast forward to the present, and I currently hold the title of Employee Experience Lead. Five years into my journey with Acorn, the thrill of the work environment hasn’t dimmed.

I am a Project Manager – Acorn
I joined Acorn in May 2014 as the Assistant Project Manager. In 2021, I was promoted to a Development Manager where I am responsible for the end to end life cycle of a project. My experience at Acorn has been one of growth and unmatched exposure with no two projects being the same, it is essential to always monitor each projects against the set standards of Health and Safety, Quality, Time and Cost.
A typical day will involve collaborating with the design teams to determine the specifications of the project, planning construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met, acquiring permits and licenses and monitoring their validity and ensuring all this is achieved safely. The foremost facet is to ensure that the client brief is delivered as required.
Jacqueline Kamau
Embarking on my journey with Acorn Holdings Africa in June 2019 as a Property Manager at Qwetu Ruaraka marked the beginning of an incredible chapter of growth and development. Transitioning through various roles, from being selected for the Management Trainee Program in June 2020 to assuming the role of Residence Property Manager at Qwetu Aberdare Heights in November 2020, has been an exhilarating experience. Witnessing the evolution of Aberdare Heights into a vibrant community of 600 residents was a testament to Acorn’s commitment to innovation.
Now, as a Regional Property Manager since April 2022, I am entrusted with overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Qwetu properties, focusing on training, talent acquisition, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Acorn has provided me with countless opportunities for professional growth and exploration, including training and certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Accelerated Management Program among others, this has given me access to a wealth of learning and resources. Yet, beyond the professional milestones, it’s the warmth of the company culture and the camaraderie among colleagues that truly make Acorn feel like home. In the bustling halls of Qwetu, every day presents a new challenge and an opportunity to excel, surrounded by a community of energetic, ambitious individuals who inspire me to reach new heights.

Joining Qwetu Parklands as a Security Assistant was a pivotal decision that has shaped my professional journey in profound ways. Entrenched in a supportive work environment, I’ve flourished over the past two and a half years, with each day offering new opportunities for growth and advancement. My tenure began in 2018 at Qwetu Jogoo Road, where I started as a Security Assistant.
Through dedication and commitment, I ascended to the role of Security Team Leader—a testament to Acorn’s culture of recognizing and nurturing talent from within. A highlight of my journey was being part of the team that inaugurated Qwetu WilsonView in February 2020, witnessing firsthand the company’s commitment to expansion and innovation.
